About Atlantic Baking Co.
Atlantic Baking Co. in Rockland, Maine, was established in December of 2002. Fondly known as ABC, Atlantic Baking Co. has been producing artisan breads and pastries from scratch ever since. We are dedicated to serving our customers, knowing they want the best we can produce in our state-of-the-art bakery.
We use only the finest ingredients available, such as unbleached, unbromated flours and use organic ingredients wherever possible. We never use preservatives. Our breads are hand shaped with care in the wee hours of the morning and are unforgettable. Come in and try a classic Parisian baguette, seeded country batard, Italian ciabatta (perfect for dipping in your favorite olive oil or covered in cheese), sourdough, cheese bread, organic whole wheat or our raisin walnut to name a few.
We use premium chocolates in our pastries and European Plugrá butter, which has a high butterfat content, making our croissants more flaky, tasty and delicious. All will melt in your mouth. You’ll be back for more when you’re craving something sweet, be it a sugar bun or or chocolate croissant. If you just want something savory you might choose a bacon cheddar scallion scone or one of our delectable muffins.
Every day we sell sandwiches made on our fresh bread, two soups and a selection of salads. All are ready to go or can be enjoyed at one of our tables inside or at our bistro tables outside in summer. Our counter facing Main Street is the perfect place to people watch or just to relax with a cup of our delicious HOT coffee.
In the summer, we are open seven days a week. Come in and enjoy Maine’s wonderful sunny days with the smell of the sea at your back.
